Ok, so living in Western Pennsylvania, I have been part of the group that has experienced 50 degrees and sunny one minute and -50 and ice-covered the next, so to get myself pumped up for some warmer weather that stays, I have been loving Pantone’s colors for Spring. I’m especially loving Little Boy Blue, because I literally live in chambray everything, so yay, I’m on trend without trying, and Ultra Violet, because it will take me out of my comfort zone. So, for this post I wanted to focus on some great pieces that I have sitting in my closet, as well as fun pieces that I found at a few of my go-to stores in those two colors specifically that will get you Spring-ready as well! If you’re not into the cool tones, here’s a great Pinterest graphic (I own no rights to this image) of all of the hot colors for Spring, so that you can make your own choices!
So, let’s start with Little Boy Blue, I am a sucker for anything chambray or blue in general, so this one is an easy choice for me. Here are a few of my favorites from my current closet:
Mossimo chambray top from Target: I got it at Salvation Army for $4, but you can find a similar top for under $20, at Target, part of their fab Universal Thread line, coming in February. Go-to Jean Shirt
I am also crazy about this So Sweet bird blouse with the open back detail. I bought this blouse at a thrift shop in Dublin, Ireland this past June. But, I did locate a similar print on Rose Gal. Bird Blouse
For a pant option, I have a pair of H&M printed pants from the Kid’s Department that I bought a few Summer’s ago for $10. These lightweight pants are perfect for a Summer vaca, I’m wearing them here on Martha’s Vineyard. I love the elastic bottoms, perfect for showing off a great shoe!
While I couldn’t locate the skinny jogger silhouette, I did find these super cute, lightweight pants, done in a bold light blue floral print at Forever 21, for under $20! Printed Pant
Lastly, I love supporting fabulous artisans, and this one happens to be a sorority sister of mine who makes super chic and sustainable clothing in Leelanau County, MI. I mean come on with these LBB-inspired pieces! Head over to Toile and Stripes on Instagram and check out her amazing work!
Now, for the Ultra Violet–I have to admit, this is where I come up short, I am not a purple girl, but I am going to try it out this Spring, so if you know of any great places or pieces, make sure you help a sister out!
So far, I am loving the Diva Girl bird blouse from my closet and this new H&M lightweight jacket that I scored on Sunday for $10 (originally $50!), so make sure you check out your local H&M, because they are making some major room in their inventory right now and practically giving away pieces that are seasonally appropriate both now and heading into Spring!
These trending colors don’t have to stop with clothes either, make sure to pull them in with fun handbags, jewelry, faux fur, or even a pop of color in a shoe. I love wear great basics and then adding a statement piece to break it up!
I hope that you have fun exploring these new trending colors, be sure to catch me up on your favorite pieces that you are snagging this season on my Instagram at Wanderlustandwardrobes!
May you go everywhere and wear it all!
